In this clip, I outline my priorities if I am elected President:
- Improve on gains made from the Tripartite Process and protect it from a possible change of government.
- Develop a unified way forward on amalgamation that engages and advances the interests of all AUS members.
- Devise a national strategy to resist redundancies.
- Improve democracy and membership participation in our union.

I share David's and other members (and non-members) concerns about redundancies. Why are redundancies becoming the default response of many University administrators to financial difficulties, to the perceived need for improved PBRF scores and curriculum change, and even to 'solve' differences of opinion? Such abuses foster fear, erode collegiality, and stifle critical comment on governance issues and the ethos of the University.
